SIMPLE, FLEXIBLE HARDNESS TESTING:

Glasgow University: When tasked with finding both a Vickers and Micro-Vickers Bench Hardness Tester for the busy Mechanical Engineering Department of Glasgow University, Lecturer Dr Bostjan Bezensek conducted a comprehensive web-search. His brief was extremely demanding, each machine had to meet the stringent technical standards required by this highly respected Department, whilst at the same time, due to the diverse nature of the tests that they will be required to perform by staff and students, be easy to use and extremely flexible. To maximise the Departments budget, the new Harness Testers also needed to be priced extremely keenly.

Dr Bezensek found the answer to his challenging requirements in the two, technically advanced Machines recently purchase from Bowers CV. Dr Bezensek enthused. “As our new Bench Testers are used by students, the Bowers CV Machines are proving ideal as their simple operating system, speed of use and clear digital readout enables each operator to fully understand the hardness results that they achieve on given specimens. Since we are also involved in advanced research into such diverse topics as the bonding composites to metals, advanced corrosion analysis and even research into the hardness of animals’ teeth, the flexible nature of our Bowers CV Hardness Testers ensures that they are in regular use. Despite the cost effective nature of Bowers CV’s products, we are very impressed by their capability.”
