Sole UK agent for the famous Sylvac range of Swiss electronic measuring instruments, Bowers Metrology have announced the launch of a new state-of-the-art Sylvac micrometer range - the advanced S Mike series. With a measuring range of 0 – 102 mm achieved with only 3 instruments, (0 – 30mm, 30 – 66 mm, 66 – 102 mm), the cost effective new range boast many impressive features, including smart inductive sensor (S.I.S.) technology, automatic stand-by mode with automatic reactivation by the motion of the measuring shaft, switch-able measuring forces of 5 N or 10 N, saved origin, a contactless data output facility, a large easy to read digital display, a true metric/inch conversion, and an easy to use preset facility.

Equally at home when used within an inspection department or on a shop-floor the new ergonomically designed micrometers have non-rotating measuring shafts with a high motion speed of 12mm per rotation. The range is water and coolant resistant, IP 67 (according to IEC 60529), ensuring that they can be used in previous ‘no-go’ areas for this type of instrument.
