Bowers Tough New Shop-Floor Caliper

Bowers Metrology has launched an advanced new range of ‘shop floor proof’ digital calipers from the renowned Swiss Metrology manufacturer Sylvac. Available with measuring capacities of 150mm, 200mm and 300mm, the tough but accurate new S_Cal PRO calipers boast a Smart Inductive Sensor (S.I.S), giving the gauges an impressive accuracy specification.

Designed to operate within harsh measuring environments, the cost effective S_Cal PRO range of calipers is manufactured from materials that are able to withstand extended shop floor use, such as within close proximity to machine tools. The new Sylvac caliper range boasts an impressive IP67 rating, according to IEC 60529, rendering them resistant to the ingress of water and coolant, whilst the gauges’ advanced measuring system remains non-sensitive to the presence of fluids.

With a large 7mm digit, LCD readout displaying all measurements, the simple 2-button S_Cal PRO operating system gives the user easy access to a range of features, such as a metric/inch conversion and a zero setting.

Extended battery life of 12,000 working hours is aided by the S_Cal PRO’s automatic stand-by mode and the gauges’ ability to automatic ‘wake-up’ prompted by the motion of the slider. For convenient data collection, a new Sylvac contactless data output (S_Connect Proximity) enables the convenient transmission of all gauge S_Cal PRO caliper readings.
