Reflecting the all-inclusive nature of our products and services, Bowers UK provides British industry with the widest choice of cost effective, quality measuring instruments currently available. Supplementing Bowers famous range of gauges and Moore & Wright micrometers, our enviable sole UK agent status means that we can offer superior products from many pre-eminent metrology companies, such as Trimos, Sylvac and Wyler. Bowers diverse range of quality measuring instruments allows us to offer cost effective solutions to UK industries measuring challenges.
The Bowers Bore Gauge Calibrator is an innovative solution to the problems presented by the need to accurately check the linearity of, or calibrate 3 point bore gauges and micrometers. Instruments ranging from 16-200mm can be accommodated by this easy to use unit, negating the need for a large number of setting rings.
Operation
The bore gauge calibrator relies on the use of slip gauges or with an optional electronic transducer output which can dispense with the need for any calculations.
Linearity
Conventional ring gauge methods of calibrating bore gauges do not give a comprehensive indication of linearity. The Bore Gauge Calibrator allows a gauge to be checked at any point within its measuring range.

The Sylvac stand is custom designed for calibrating all types of dial gauges, lever indicators and transducers. It utilises a 25mm / 1" travel Sylvac probe linked to a digital indicating unit, which in turn can be connected to various software programs for test certificate production.
The flexible Trimos THV calibration instrument is capable of undertaking a wide range of internal and external calibration routines, belying its relatively inexpensive price. This flexible instrument can be supplied fitted with a variety of probes, scales and readouts, including Heidenhain units, dependent on the customers required accuracy specification.
The large range of ingenious, quick-fit accessories available for the THV, ensures great versatility of application. Simplicity of design and ease of use of the instrument allows rapid and accurate calibration of a wide variety of measuring instruments.
The basic Instrument is supplied with a set of 6.5mm diameter carbide anvils for external measurements and a set of anvils for internal measurements, minimum diameter 10mm. Smaller diameters available on request.
The Floating Carriage micrometer represents the classic method of thread measurement, which is recommended by the National Physical Laboratory. Bowers can now offer an ingenious electronic conversion, easily retrofitted to all makes of Floating Carriage micrometers. The conversion slashes measuring times, improves accuracy and repeatability, eliminates calculation error and allows the measured result to be sent to gauge management software or to a printer for the instant generation of calibration certificates.
Electronic conversion
To keep pace with industry's need to speed up this type of work and also provide the facility of data output, Bowers have introduced an electronic conversion which has been evaluated by U.K.A.S laboratories. Using the electronic measuring system, the operation of measurement is completed with a 75% time saving over the mechanical version. No longer is the fiducial indicator required as a reference, instead an end stop is added and the constant measuring pressure is applied by incorporating a "dead weight" into the system.
